Little-known Facts about the Ancient Bulgarians`History
Historiography has accepted the fact that the beginnings of the Bulgarian state are of the time of Kan Kubrat, the founder of the Great Old Bulgaria. It was established in the present-day South Russia steppes in the first half of the 7th century. The roots of the ancient Bulgarians lead us to the high plateaus of Pamir and Hindu Kush of the first millenium A.D. Until the middle of the 7th century the Bulgarians had participated in several Eurasian state, which originated spontaneously and declined fast.
Danube Bulgaria which was founded in 681, proved to be the most stable union of the earlier five or six Bulgarian states. It continues to exist today.
