Abstract

Power is connected to the ability of control of different aspects of the environment. If these aspects are political one speaks about political power. And some aspects of the political power can be studied quantitatively. For an example the Shapley-Shubik power index is a measure of the constructive political power. Opposite to this the Banzhaf index is a measure of the destructive political power. Both indices are discussed in the article. Examples for their arrpication to the EU, US and Bulgarian political systems are discussed.
